International conference - Research Infrastructure and e-Infrastructures for Digital Cultural Heritage

The Central Institute for the Union Catalogue of Italian Libraries (ICCU), in collaboration with the European Commission and the European project ARIADNE, will organize the international conference on ‘Research Infrastructure and e-Infrastructures for Digital Cultural Heritage’. The conference will be held on 13-14 November 2014 at the National Central Library of Rome. The event is organized in the framework of the initiatives of the Italian Semester of Presidency of the European Union.
The International conference will focus on how e-Infrastructure and Research Infrastructure, operating in the Cultural Heritage domain, are collaborating together to integrate the existing different research data infrastructures, providing an overview of the issues and the available solutions.

The programme of the Conference is organized in two sessions per day.
On the first day (13th November) the sessions will be about:

  • Research data and e-Infrastructures: the political vision at National and European level
  • E-infrastructures for cultural heritage: the present and the future

On the second day (14th November) the sessions will concern:

  • Research infrastructures and communities for arts, humanities and digital cultural heritage
  • A special session in the afternoon will be devoted to ARIADNE workshop.
